GREENE COUNTY COUNCIL ON THE ARTS: ADVOCATING THE ARTS

For more than 30 years, the Greene County Council on the Arts has championed the arts as a basic necessity enriching lives in Greene County. The Council operates two galleries – one in Catskill and one in Windham – and produces 18 exhibitions yearly with funding from memberships, corporations, and local, county and state sources.

Our two-story gallery at 398 Main Street in Catskill is also headquarters and command central for the wide variety of services we provide, including technical assistance to artists, Arts-in-Education, regrant funds for artists and arts organizations, youth programs, and Arts & Crafts and Music at the Market at the Riverside Market at Catskill Point.

At the helm is executive director Kay Stamer, whose devotion to the council and the arts has been unwavering throughout her 30+ year tenure. Stamer is ably assisted at both galleries by a talented cadre of staff and volunteers.
