Main St. – The Day House — Stephen Day, one of the Village founders,
and the first president, moved from Connecticut in 1791 and first
lived in this five bay Federal style brick house that was occupied
by members of the Day family until 1925. Home of the first Greene
County Bank, later in 1831 the Tanners Bank was established on the
first floor of the building. |

Main Street – The Bank of Greene County — The Bagley Insurance
building was erected in the 1930’s representing one of the first buildings
in the village designed in the Art Deco style. In 1999 the building
was purchased by The Bank of Greene County and renovated with new
windows befitting the era and other updates including air conditioning.
Other original features were left intact. The interior has marble
and bronze inlaid throughout. |
